Who this policy is from
This policy is issued by Sihman Inc., a United States company, and covers www.sihman.com and the internal software Sihman Inc. uses to run its own accounting. Our socks are knitted in Istanbul by our sister company Elteksan LLC, which is a separate legal entity with its own address and its own contact details.

What we collect when you use this site
You can read every page on this site without telling us anything about yourself. We collect personal information in two situations: when you send us an inquiry, and when your visit is measured.
What our forms collect
The contact form and the sample-request form are the same form, and it asks for the following. Everything on this list is something you type or attach yourself.
- First name and last name
- So we know who we are replying to.
- Email address
- Where our reply goes.
- Phone number
- Used only if a call moves your inquiry along faster.
- Company name
- We quote to businesses, so we need the buying company.
- Country
- Sets duty, freight and lead time on any quote.
- Address
- Where samples or production would ship.
- Your message
- The brief itself: design, volume and timeline.
- An artwork file, if you attach one
- Stored so the person handling your inquiry can open it.
What the request itself carries
When you submit the form we also see your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. Those are used to run a bot check through Cloudflare Turnstile and to tell a real inquiry from automated abuse. A submitted inquiry is then passed through an automated screening step that reads the message and scores whether it looks like a genuine manufacturing inquiry or spam. That step only affects how the inquiry is prioritized. A person reads and answers every genuine inquiry.
What measurement collects
Like most business websites, we measure how the site is used so we can improve it and so we know which advertising is worth paying for. We load Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads our analytics and advertising measurement tags, and Microsoft Clarity, which records aggregate behavior such as scrolling and clicks. We do not use either one to make decisions about you as an individual.
The cookies we set ourselves
Two cookies are set by us. Others may be set by the measurement tags named above, under their own providers' policies.
- sihman_consent
- Records your privacy choice, including an opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- Kept for 365 days.
- sihman_attr
- Records how you reached the site: campaign parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, and advertising click identifiers such as gclid or fbclid, so we can tell which campaigns produce real inquiries.
- Kept for 90 days.
What we do with it, and who receives it
We use what you send us to answer your inquiry, to quote your project, and, if you go ahead, to produce and ship your order. We use measurement data to understand which pages and which campaigns bring us real inquiries.
A new inquiry is delivered to our own sales mailbox and posted into our own internal team chat space so that somebody picks it up. We do not sell personal information for money.
Service providers
These companies process data on our behalf so that this website and our business can run. They act for us, not for themselves.
- Cloudflare
- Hosts this website, serves it, filters bots through Turnstile, stores any file you attach, and sends the notification email that carries your inquiry to us.
- Tag Manager loads our analytics and advertising measurement tags. Our internal team notification about a new inquiry is delivered into our own Google Workspace account.
- Microsoft
- Clarity records aggregate behavior on the site, such as which parts of a page visitors read, so we can fix pages that do not work.
- Intuit
- QuickBooks Online holds Sihman Inc.'s accounting records, including the customer, estimate, invoice and payment records described further down this page.
Our manufacturing partner
Sihman Inc. does not knit socks itself. If your inquiry becomes a sample or a production order, the details needed to make and ship it, which includes your company name, the delivery address and the specification you sent us, are passed to Elteksan LLC in Turkiye so the order can be produced. Nothing beyond what is needed to produce and ship the order is passed on.
We also disclose information where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request, and where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Our QuickBooks Online integration
This integration is internal and first party. It connects only to Sihman Inc.'s own QuickBooks Online company file.
It is not a product and it is not offered to anyone else. No external customer connects their own QuickBooks company to it, there is no sign up, there are no user accounts, and there are no other users. The only people who operate it are Sihman Inc. staff, keeping Sihman Inc.'s own books.
What it connects to
The integration authorizes against Intuit using OAuth. The only scope it requests is
com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting. It requests no payroll scope, no payments
scope, and no scope beyond accounting.
What it reads and writes
Everything below happens inside Sihman Inc.'s own company file and nowhere else. The purpose is a single one: the quote we send a customer, the invoice that follows it, and the payment that settles it should each exist once and should agree with each other.
- Customer records
- Read, to find the customer a document belongs to.
- Service item records
- Read, to find the item a quoted line refers to.
- Estimates
- Created, as the proforma we send you.
- Invoices
- Created, from an accepted estimate.
- Payment records
- Created, when a payment arrives, so the invoice is marked paid.
How the connection is secured
The OAuth access token and refresh token are encrypted at rest. The encryption key is derived from our own application client secret through a key-derivation function, and the encrypted token file is excluded from source control, so it is never committed to a repository.
A ledger held in a local database records each document we have issued and each payment we have recorded, so the same estimate, invoice or payment is never issued twice, even if the process is interrupted part way through.
What we do not do with Intuit data
- We do not sell data obtained from QuickBooks or from Intuit.
- We do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
- We do not use it for advertising, for ad targeting, or to build profiles.
- We do not use it to train machine-learning models.
- We do not connect it to the website measurement described above.
Internally, our own staff are notified about an issued document or a received payment through the company accounts named under service providers above. Those providers act for us and process the information only to deliver that notification.
What you can ask us to do
Every page on this site carries a "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer. It opens a panel with a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" toggle, which is the opt out that several U.S. state privacy laws give you. Your choice is remembered for a year. Essential parts of the site keep working either way.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt out automatically. You do not need to set the toggle as well.
You can also write to [email protected] and ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Tell us enough to find your record, normally the email address and company name you used, and we will respond. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Keeping, protecting and changing this
How long we keep things
Inquiries and the correspondence that follows are kept while we are dealing with you, and afterwards for as long as we need them for the order itself and for our accounting and tax records. The two cookies named above expire on the schedule shown in that table.
We have not set a single fixed period that covers every kind of record, so this page does not state one rather than state one we do not keep to. If you want to know what we hold about you or how long we expect to keep it, write to [email protected] and we will tell you.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection. Accounting credentials are encrypted at rest as described above, and secrets are kept out of source control. No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
This is a business-to-business manufacturing site with a minimum order of 2,000 pairs per design, color, and size. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will change the last-updated date shown at the top of the page.
